CHALLENGE OVERVIEW:
Voice for Humanity came to Vision Launchers in 2005 seeking a new face for its cutting-edge technology. Voice for Humanity (VFH) is a non-profit humanitarian organization whose mission is to enable oral communicators (non-literates) to improve their quality of life through access to life-saving, life-changing information. VFH is a global organization whose technology has been used to disseminate AIDS education in West Africa, democracy initiatives in Afghanistan and grass-roots voting information in Asia. The global mission and vision for the organization demanded a world-class website that would be able to inform all the stakeholders, from technologists, to politicians to granting agencies to on-the-ground implementers.
THE SOLUTION :
Vision Launchers approached the project by utilizing its core competencies in the areas of Creative solutions and Interactive Media. From a creative standpoint, Vision Launchers built a visually appealing site that delivers a wide range of information about the technology and utilizes human faces to engage the user in the devastating effects of illiteracy. The VFH site allows the organization to not only reach a global audience with its technology and mission, but also to self-publish important news utilizing the Vision Launchers content management system. Utilizing VL technology, VFH team members can publish news and updates about its projects from anywhere in the world in real-time. This sort of technology keeps all the stakeholders informed and allows the organization to show the immediate positive effects of its programs.
In the Interactive Media area, VL took existing low-quality videos of VFH’s global operations and optimized them for the web. We created a custom Flash video player that enables VFH to reach its audience in a new dynamic way in a medium that is incredibly efficient at communicating the organization’s core values and mission.
THE RESULTS :
Vision Launchers worked with Voice For Humanity in developing and implementing leading edge solutions in the areas of web development and video. The organization has grown to take on projects all throughout the world since the new site launched and it receives traffic on a monthly basis from all over the world, including important donors, stakeholders and the teams implementing the life-saving solutions. |
